The 'Shields' by HAZEBUSTER^® are a great solution for the pilot who wears prescription eyeglasses. They provide all the benefits of our Hazebuster lens in a frame engineered with contemporary styling, eye protection, and comfort in mind.  They are designed to be worn over prescription eyeglasses, however, some people wear them as a typical sunglass.

The design incorporates side lenses and a contoured frame top and bottom, to provide total protection from every angle. The lenses and frame are both polycarbonate.

HAZEBUSTER^® Shields are available in five models based primarily on size.  Our 2511 shields are rated Z80.3 polycarbonate and meet A.N.S.I. standards for polycarbonate non-prescription sunglasses and fashion glasses.  Our other four model lenses are certified safety glasses and meet current A.N.S.I. standards for high impact safety wear--namely +Z87.1 polycarbonate.

The safety standard is divided into two protection levels.  'Basic Impact' and 'High Impact' as dictated by test criteria.  Basic Impact lenses must pass the 'drop ball test', a 1" diamter steel ball is dropped on the lens from 50 inches.  High Impact lenses must pass "high velocity" testing where 1/4" steel balls are "shot" at different velocities.  Our models 2513, 2514, 2516, and 2524 have a "+" sign in front of the Z87 designation, which indicates they are "high impact."

The lenses have a hard-coat finish on the front to help protect the surface from scratches, and an anti-reflective coating on the back of the lenses to eliminate any back glare from the prescription lens.

All HAZEBUSTER^® sunglasses, goggles, and shields come in a soft pouch, along with a microfiber cleaning cloth and a neck cord. We recommend rinsing the lenses with an eyeglass cleaning solution before wiping them with the cleaning cloth.

Choose the 'Shields' in one of in five models to fit over various sizes of prescription glasses:
• Model '2511' fits over frames not exceeding 125mm wide (4-15/16 inches) and 35mm high (1-1/2 inches);
• Model '2513' fits over frames not exceeding 133mm wide (5-3/8 inches) and 39mm high (1-5/8 inches);
• Model '2514' fits over frames not exceeding 138mm wide (5-1/2 inches) and 48mm high (1-7/8 inches);
• Model '2516' fits over frames not exceeding 140mm wide (5-5/8 inches) and 51mm high (2 inches);
• Model '2524' is our jumbo size, and will fit over most glasses larger than 140mm wide (5-5/8 inches).
